Welcome to the Celebrated Sounds, the webpage for the Celebrated Sounds: The Music of the Berea College Sound Archive educational audio program.
Our first program, An Introduction to a Musical Appalachia is now up here and explores The history of how the outside world saw our music over the last 100 years. It includes recordings of Wade and Julia Mainer, Bascom Lamar Lunsford, Roscoe Holcomb, Joan Salmon Campbell, Jean Ritchie, Betty Smith and others. listen to the hour long program all at once, or in segments while following the supplemental guide.
